COUNTY TOWNS
About 1 km away from the village, on the top of a hill (more 500m high) there lies - touched by the imprint of time - the Saxon castle. Its construction began in the XIVth century.
The walls (7-9 m high) and the 6 towers were meant to defend the inhabitants of Saschiz and of the surrounding villages in time of war.
