Reading room	Serving readers

     The general lecture room is situated at the central headquarter of the library, second floor, destined to individual lecture and study. It has 74 places on desks, a distribution and surveillance post. The access to the room is by permit, issued upon subscription as reader of the library, for 5 years.
     The room offers the users a rich fund of books - 150.000 volumes in all domains. The acquisitions made take account the needs of socio - professionals categories, at local and county level, and finally of the budget available. The fund is represented by dictionaries, lexicons, encyclopedias, in Romanian, Hungarian, German, English, French. Art works, atlases, laws and decree collections, newspapers and magazines answer the daily needs of the city's inhabitants. Traditional way of activities complete the modern ones. The traditional ones used in informing users are already known, we have library catalogs- systematic and alphabetic, the bulletin " New books", issued every two months.
     The modern tools- computers facilitate the finding of information for acquisitions after 1995, we also mention the "Lex" program.
